About the exhibition:
“Fast foot – Urban Cycle Stories.” – This first solo exhibition of Oguzhan Erim presents 14 captures from 7 European countries (Belgium, Germany, Holland, Poland, Spain, Sweden) taken between 2010 – 2013. The theme is bicycles within the daily European city life.
Title of the exhibition has both references to velocipede, latin word which literally means “fast foot”, a word for all bicycle-like inventions of the 1800s; as well as the exhibition venue “Amida”, which has been recognized by locals as one of the best “fast food” places in the Södermalm region.
About the photographer:
Oguzhan Erim moved from his hometown Istanbul to Stockholm in 2006. Starting to take photos during university studies in Turkey, he became much more enthusiastic after being involved in Knepp, the photography club at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology.
In recent years, Oguzhan kept his focus particularly on city life photography after he had the chance to travel and visit several countires especially in Europe. His work appeared in Swedish and Turkish magazines, as well as in the music album ‘Beyond Istanbul 2′ by Ipek Ipekcioglu. Erim describes photography as “a passion slightly evolving to addiction” of capturing interesting moments in life, rather than a profession or a hobby.
